I just think they're just not convinced about the value of conferences. Why go to a conference when everything is available on Google or YouTube (I disagree that you can get the same quality on Google as listening to a passionate speaker). They also don't see the value of networking and making friends in the Oracle community.

We're finding that people are hungry for information on NoSQL so we're trying to give it to them. Yesterday, one of our members did a two hour deep technical dive on Hadoop that was standing-room only.
