Apologies if this is old news, but the following MOS info may be of interest re manual memory management and SGA resizes:

SGA Re-Sizes Occurring Despite AMM/ASMM Being Disabled (MEMORY_TARGET/SGA_TARGET=0) [ID 1269139.1]

Basically, Oracle will do SGA resizes to avoid 4031 errors, even if you are using manual memory management.

I've also observed large amounts of memory being used by KGLHD and have applied the patch Finn mentions. Unfortunately it didn't help though. I have an SR open for this, but no news at the moment.
