I'm not sure what version of Toad you're using, but at least in 11.5, changing the Editor font is straightforward:

View->Toad Options->Editor/Display, then click on the Editor button inside the Fonts frame.

One can go hogwild to tailor just about every visual widget to their needs/wants, including different fonts for each source type you wish to edit (View->Toad Options->Editor/Behavior->Languages frame), but the default font is easily accessible.
