While I don't use show SGA myself, I'd expect it to be accurate. In terms of data dictionary views, I beleive that you should be using V$MEMORY_DYNAMIC_COMPONENTS and
V$SGA_DYNAMIC_COMPONENTS. My understanding is that the older views do not reflect the dynamic changes that are made to the component sizes these days.
