Hi,
We also have 2 databases across 2 nodes on AIX 6.1 11.2.0.2 RAC. We had installed the second database because Cognos software repository database (CONTENT) needs a character set other than we were using for our reports in Turkish characterset. The second database is really small one that it is hard to tell about performance impact.

Hope this helps.
