I had quite a bit of trouble with policy managed databases, and here especially with Data Guard. Tried to add the instances manually, but that defeats the purpose-a policy managed database can run on any cluster node...
It seemed impossible to create a standby database for my policy managed primary, which failed.

I've had success with it against 11.2 RAC systems, as well as against 11g fusion middleware components (unsupported in 10g). One thing of note, however, is that if you have any databases still running 9i, they have to be 9.2.0.8, or Grid Control will not be able to manage them. Have a 9.2.0.7 database that's still hanging around, and can't get it registered in Grid Control.

This is great feedback, and perfectly timed as I was just about to wipe our 10.2.0.5 Grid Install to move to 11g. Thank you Kathryn & Niall.
Is anyone running 11g Grid & preferring it?

We too hit a variety of issues while trying to install it (on Linux). Then, once installed, hit more issues with it running.
In the end, I wiped it, (easily) reinstalled 10.2.0.5 and moved on to other things..For our limited usage, it just wasn't worth the effort.
