daily goof - flashback system tables

So we get a ORA-54 last night and I'm trying to assist with root cause.

Every bone in my body says I can't do this

select * from gv$locked_object
as of timestamp TO_TIMESTAMP('2009-09-04 00:07:00', 'YYYY-MM-DD HH24:MI:SS');

but hey it's returning rows - how cool is that

after I settled down I noticed that this returns the same data

select * from gv$locked_object

oh well - nothing ventured.....

Having fun with logminer now to see if there are some clues in there.
