Re: Academic question: How to recover through a gap of archived redol ogs with data loss?

1. Do a tablespace point in time recovery using all the archives starting from the backup till the last continuous one that you have.
2. Use logminer to mine the relevant data from the archives after the gap. Pray that there aren't too many data consistency issues.
