As a product from Oracle, I'm pretty sure it was 7.3 when it was offered. There were customers doing what we call a standby with version 6.

Subject: standby database

can anyone tell me when this first came out - I'm guessing between v7 in 1992 and v8 in 1997, probably in 7.3.4 but would really like a definitive answer
