Just my gut feeling but probably nothing.

First of all, there is limited exposure to the problems caused by the DST time changes. The month of March and the month of October (the difference in dates from the old DST changes to the new ones).

Secondly, if you are worried about it, ask Oracle. I submitted a question like this via a Metalink SR and they were pretty good about it. They answered in a couple of days, but that was fine with me.

I have a question and can NOT find answer on ORACLE DTS documents.

  1. we don't use time zone data type on ORACLE 9ir2, but we apply ORACLE 9ir2 time zone patch and JVM patch on server side. if some PC (client) did NOT apply ORACLE DTS patch, what happen?

Thanks.
