Not sure why it is, but I am seeing similar results with my 10.2.0.2 on AIX 5.3 system - our online logs are 200MB and our archived logs are usually about 184MB. Is it just coincidence that it is one granule
(16MB) short of the redo log size? Perhaps yours is also just 1 granule
(4MB if your SGA < 128MB) short?
