        CRS_HOME is shorthand reference for where you've installed your Oracle Clusterware. It's the "Oracle Home" for your clusterware software. The term CRS comes from the old name for Oracle Clusterware, which was Cluster Ready Services.

...which is a new name for OCMS (Oracle Cluster Managment Services) which is a
port (at best) of Compaq portable clsuterware....NIH
