The install of EM is supposed to create a third $OH on the install?!?? THAT would have saved me some hair pulling if it had worked on Linux for me! That would make sense. There's also an article on MetaLink on how to manually recreate the EM repository if (*when*) something goes wrong on the install. Like using stkio to run IO tests on your test DB file system and thinking it wouldn't trash anything... <blush>

Check out MetaLink 292793.1, if you can (there's a better article but can't find it at the moment).

Enjoy!

If you plan on using a 10g database for your OEM, you will need to install your Enterprise Database Server software first. Then you will install the Enterprise Manager software. You will need to use separate Oracle Homes for each. During the install of the Enterprise Manager software, it will create a third ORACLE_HOME for the agent software.

I still haven't got the install to work using an existing 10G database for the repository database. If you choose to create a repository database during the install of the Enterprise Manager software, it will default to a 9i Release 1 database.

Hope this helps.
