Other than the kernel changes that need to be made for Oracle, are there any issues using the default install of Fedora Core 3 or any additional configuration changes that should be made?

Also, the database is going to be UTF-8. Is there anything special that needs to be done to Fedora Core 3 to accomodate using that character set?
