Birkir,
How is this DWH using the Logical Standby? If you use it for E.G. ETL, you might consider switching to Physical Standby, and open that in Read Only mode periodically. It will easier keep up with the primary. When you create a cron job that sets the database in Read-only mode every morning, say at 7am, and switches it back to managed recovery at 7 pm, the DWH can be feeded, and you have a nice DR database available as well. Finally, you can get rid of the supplemental logging, which will save the amount of redo on your primary.
