RE: Samba and 10g - and NT

The reason 10g came into play probably is because that is the version that supports OS transportability without export/import. Staying with 9.2 means IMHO the downtime to do the export/import.

If I am recalling the correct conversation from Birmingham, the challenge is to migrate from 9.2 on NT4 to Linux with minimal downtime? That is the real aim is to change OS platform, rather than necessarily the DB version.

Am I recalling all this correctly?
