Mladen,

no one _has_ to configure an EMC Clarion (e.g. CX200) as RAID 5. a client is running one with 30 drives (28 hot) as 2 x 8 drives as RAID 10, 1 x 4 drives RAID 10 and 4 x 2 RAID 1 just fine (balance as hot spares).

I got to use 3 redo log members per group. sometimes dreams do come true. :)

an entire external unit, with no RAID 5 whatsoever. If the drivers for the FCHBAs would just be stable, you could not shut me up about performance.

If.

It did take quite a bit of asserting, though, to not end up with RAID 5 under the hood. After all, if had 1 GB of cache. baarf.
