Just curious, though, if you happen to know of any URL for that document. It doesn't show up in the list of 8.1.7 manuals at http://otn.oracle.com/pls/tahiti/tahiti.docindex

Sorry guys,
DataGuard was there with 8i. I'v the Oracle8i Data Guard Concepts, Administration and Installation guide right in front of me. I must admit that Oracle that a good job hiding the existence of this feature, but it works, and it works fine! It's there on AIX, HP-UX and Solaris. It is merely (ksh)script based, and comes with 5 small executables.
