Lisa,

I believe that if Anjo Kolk were replying to this, he would state something along the lines of:

any OS would likely not be able to saturate a 5 GB SAN cache (how much did that cost?!?!) through a single FC HBA, even if it was dual channel 2 Gbps.

at this point, you sound more interested in finding the bottle, rather than the bottleneck.

good luck.

AFAIK, ASM wants volumes, not directories. think mount points, either JBOD or RAID volumes.
