I don't believe there are any equivalent PL/SQL functions, unless
you write your own.
PL/SQL won't be able to compete with Oracle Media ( is that its name
this month?) in terms of performance.

Hi
If you have installed Oracle text you can use other functions like CONTAINS,CATSEARCH, andMATCHES
My question is if someone knows about some performance test that shows Oracle text functions as better than plsql equivalent functions.
Thanks
