My company has implemented this a few years back and we have never had any issues with oracle. The only related problem could be a scheduler like cron. One day our clock was set back to 3:00:00 am from 3:00:01 am by the job that synched up the clocks so all the cronjobs that were schedule for 3am got kicked off twice. Our solution was to have the clocked synced up at an off minute where no jobs were to be schedule.

Subject: Changing System Clock

Hi Team
My organisation is in the process of setting up an NTP (network time protocol) service, to keep all our servers/pc's on the same time.

I have asked Google if there are any issues with making changes to the system clock while Oracle is running, I was unable to find much advise.

I would appreciate any input from the list

Environment: Redhat ASE 2.1 Oracle 8.1.7.4

Cheers
Jeremy
