Well sure. I was assuming the PATH was correct. I should have said "As = long as the bin directory for the right version of Oracle is FIRST in = the path" which is what I meant.
Even if I have two installations of Oracle, e.g. Oracle 8.1 and Oracle = 9.2, and the BIN directory for Oracle 8.1 is first in the path, I should = still be able to "connect / as sysdba" to a 9.2 local database if I cd = %ORACLE_92_HOME%/bin and then run SQL*Plus.
