Hi all:

I'm testing a restore of a database file (tools TS). The datafile is a raw device and I have link to that raw evice in my links directory. I"m running Oracle 9203 and UNIX 5l. And the problem I ran into is as follows. If I drop the logical link , the rman restores
the data as a datafile. If I remove the link and recreate it pointing to another raw device, the restore
fails bacause the file exist. How do I force rman to restore the data in the raw device form? IS there a way to do it?

thanks

gene
