That's correct. In fact p3=126 for most of the 'db file scattered read' events (ranging from 5 to 128). But if it is successful and it does issue some 7 times less I/O reguests - why does it take longer to execute?

Nope. No striping, in fact no raid at all. Plain JBOD. The whole table is on a single disk.

Yes it was repeatable at the time I did the tests. There was some minor activity (not heavy on I/O), but I will try again latter on today.
