Our Win2K boxes are working fine with 8i and now 9i. We have yet to see a BSOD in over 2 years since going to Win2K and could not be more happy. You can get any of the tools that are in Unix through 3rd party packages so if you can't live without PERL or sed or awk you wont have to go into 'unix withdrawl'. We have found it to be very easy to set up, very easy to monitor and performance has been exceptional.

Go linux man. It will consume less of your resources than W2K leaving more for your instances. It will also use standard shell scripting and such that if you need to scale to a different *NIX your scripts go along A LOT easier. In fact, many of our scritps here are transparent between HPUX and Linux (we use ksh on both). Stability is better and security is a lot easier to lock down.
