Performance tuning case studies

Anyone know of a source (website, book, ...) where there is a repository of real-life examples of poorly performing databases and the fix to the poor performance? I've been reading 'The Art and Science of Oracle Performance Tuning.' In the book Mr. Lawson gives examples (though not enough)of real-world situations in which he presents the description of the problem and offers clues that would lead a DBA to a solution. Next he provides an explanation of the solution. The more of these I read, the more I feel like I get WAY more out of this type of reading than your average DBA-friendly book.

It seems to me like someone (who has FAR more experience than I) could sell quite of few copies of a book consisting of entirely case studies. You could cover several versions of Oracle.

I'm hoping that this has already been done and I just haven't found it on the web yet. ....if not, and someone actually attempts to do it because of the email (HIGHLY HIGHLY unlikely)..., could I get a free copy :)

Chris
