Jayadas, nice to meet you.

I have been a developer for 10+ years of my life, I still write code for DBA work and for others in my organization if they request so. If your application needs more than 1024 cursors per session, I'd say the application is a strong suspect.

Most DBAs on this list are pretty good developers themselves, and unless you have some experience, it is difficult to take *justifiable* exceptions to someone else's code.

Unless of course you are one of those
business-process-change-in-paradigm-I-walk-over-water-consultant ... then you can take exception to anything. Of Course.

You are, however justifiably right in the later statements of your email 8:) ...

it is ridiculous that the this thread is doing more of developer bashing than anything else ... but of course, lesser mortals like developers just exist to please the almighty DBAs, who always are the supreme pinnacle of knowledge and enlightenment ...
