Teradata would not be the first product banned. Way back in olden-times the maker of SQR were banned, but I cannot remember why.

Well, I can answer that. SQR began life as a report writer with procedural capabilities. It arrived before PL/SQL, and was the first 4GL which provided procedural processing of Oracle data. Even after PL/SQL arrived, our local Oracle contacts confirmed SQR to be far superior... and as for comparing Oracle's report writer with SQR - oh please...
