Waits 8i vs. 9i??

Has anyone noticed that the number of event waits in 9i seems much much higher than in 8i.
This is the number, not the time waited mind you, so this doesn't really have performance
implications. I'm just wondering if this betrays some internal code changes in the way Oracle
is reporting these events.
