I am confused. Are you talking of multiple extents in a block? Throws my fundamentals topsyturvy.

nick, you're thinking segments not extents.

and I was off as well, if your extent size is less than the blocksize then you can have more than one extent in a block (divide the block size by the extent size and round DOWN)

in general though, extents are not usually sized as small as the database block size
