CHECKPOINT?

Hi
When i check alert log the log switching normally between 20 min or 30 minutes.But when I do truncate for big table.The chekcpoint started but not completed.I chekced the
background checkpoints completed and background checkpoints started diffrence was high during truncate.
My redo log file size is 20m.I THINK i need to resize the redo log and increase the value of LOG_CHECKPOINT_INTERVAL parameter. Please suggest me
