Assuming the same Oralce and OS version on both Unix boxes. You can create a standby on the new box. Then activate it. The down time will be the time you need to move the online redo over and apply it.

I have one production database of 60gb .i want to migrate from existing unix box to new unix box with minimun downtime.Please suggest what will be good method for migration.I have oracle 8.1.7 on solaris 2.7. Thanks
