Received this in the email today:

Oracle To Retire Oracle8 OCP Track

As of March 31, 2002, the following Oracle OCP exams will retire:

Exam 1Z0-401 Oracle8 Database Operator
Exam 1Z0-013 Oracle8: Database Administration
Exam 1Z0-014 Oracle8: Backup and Recovery
Exam 1Z0-015 Oracle8: Performance and Tuning
Exam 1Z0-016 Oracle8: Network Administration

According to Oracle: "All OCPs certified on Oracle8 will retain their Oracle8 OCP credential even after the track is retired, and will continue to receive all OCP benefits and recognition for your proven expertise."

(Do you think Microsoft's listening?)

Moreover, most of the exams required for an Oracle 8 cert can be applied towards the Oracle 8i DBA track.
