Like I
said "I have two parameter files in two different directories on the same machine". I more of a UNIX guy so I know that if I want to look at the pfile in unix I would go directly to the ORACLE_HOME/DBS directory. But in NT, it is only at the time of instance creation that the pfile location can be specified. Therefore I am looking for some command/utility that can tell me that path after the DB creation.

in two different directories on the same machine. Is there a way I can find     out which parameter file is being used by the database.     One way I tried was to make the changes in one file and see     if it takes effect when the database is restarted. but I have more than 52     machines and it will be time consuming to do the same for all machines     especially when these machines are on remote locations.     Thanks. Shahid.    Received on Wed Jul 04 2001 - 00:00:53 CDT
