A lot of people bag raid-5 but for "read only" environments its fine. The initial load may suffer a bit - but for this, if you can isolate your redo logs onto something other than the raid-5 then you should see large benefits.

Also if its ONLY raid-5 then that would suggest the the OS and swap/paging space will be in the mix as well. You'll want to do you best (particular with the swap) to ensure that this doesn't get out of hand..
