Not that I would want Java (jre.exe) consuming resources on the Oracle Server
(need a spare 1000 power units + 256 MB ram just to run OEM?)
but you could use VNC to get you into the server room without leaving your seat.

I have 3 servers up on my desktop right now - all running batch jobs where I'm in the filesystem.
2 are running in WinVNC, 1 with NetOp at a Client site.

IMHO - WinVNC does not perform acceptably across a dial-up connection.

As a last resort I tried installing EM on a server, instead of on my Windows
2000 Professional workstation - yep, it is installing on the server!

So you have to be locked away with the servers to manage them? You cannot
manage them from a workstation?

Strange approach...

I downloaded EM. Trying to install in Windows 2000 environment. THe first
screen starts up ok, but when I select the install option, it all just fades
away and nothing happens. No obvious error, no messages logged that I can
see, etc.

Any suggestions?
