I'd probably work with 'em on it, and most likely I'd point them to USER_TAB_PRIVS so that they could do their own regranting. Or I might do it for 'em. But I wouldn't drop everything to accommodate them. Whenever I got a request like this as a DBA, I would try to estimate how long it would take and schedule it like any other task that I needed to do.
