Hi, Mark,

David Solomon has written a new book "Inside Microsoft Windows 2000"
(http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/0735610215/o/qid=981349567/sr=8-1/re
f=aps_sr_b_1_1/107-0770684-3953357).
Regrettably I have not read it. But judging by the technical competence of the
author as revealed in his excellent "Inside Windows NT", I believe this new book will not be a disappointment.

However we look at Windows versus UNIX, and Windows users versus UNIX users, neither of the OS internals is for the faint of heart. Quality of the books on
them is therefore not to be judged by the quality of the products. I once wrote
a review on Amazon.com on "Oracle Web Application Server Handbook" titled something like "Excellent book on a crappy product" (I can't find my review on
Amazon now for some reason). You get the idea.
