Permissions on datafiles

Hi,  

Anyone have an idea how Oracle allocates its file permissions when adding datafiles to a tablespace. I thought it would use umask but as our umask is set to 002, the resultant file permissions after adding a file would suggest that this is not the case.  

Hope someone can provide an answer
