ACTIVE STATUS in v$log

List,
metalink explaing the ACTIVE value in STATUS columns of v$log as ..

x-------x-----------x----------x------------x ACTIVE indicate the log is active but is not the current log. It is needed for crash recovery. It may be in use for block recovery. It might or might not be archived.

i have three groups (2 member each) and at any given time one of the group status is ACTIVE, it remains active untill the next group in sequence is archived , and then, the group just archived becomes ACTIVE !!

why the log is ACTIVE when it's archived status is YES ? and the log has been successfully applied to the standby also !
