That was good!

Ought to scare some of the non-parents into refraining, thus helping with over-population problems.

We found out that those big heavy 20' rubberized tarps that truckers use to cover open loads make good carpet & wall protectors in the areas where the kids eat (which is basically the whole house -except bathrooms, most of the time). They are easy to attach to interior floors/walls with 6" spikes and a sledge hammer, or you can get automated systems:
