RE: Oracle Replication Product

Including this one.. 8) (Well almost anyway)

However, I was lead to believe Sybase's replication on Oracle was superior due to the fact that it read from the logs. (I'd never used it and since it wasn't originally a Sybase product, it sounded reasonable.)

In the same argument, they say Oracle's replication sucks because it's trigger based.

Let it be known that Sybase replication "SIMULATES" Sybase transaction logs in Oracle via, none other than, TRIGGERS! 8)

In a heterogeneous environment, I'd say Sybase replication. If it's just Oracle, I'd say stay native. Less overhead.. Of course, that being said from a DBA that's never used Oracle's replication either! 8)
