We set OPTIMIZER_MODE to CHOOSE and ran the ANALYZE last july. Oracle suggested us to delete all statistics as work around. It wasn't fine.
The patchset is 8162.
I forgot to say that once the instances were upgraded we have gotten = some
kilos of ORA-600 due to SORT_AREA_SIZE parameter, another bug corrected = in
8.1.7
Maybe the solution is an amulet to put near the server...
