I have that configuration at home and it works fine. I've had no problems worth mentioning with 8.1.6.1 on RH 6.2, despite the fact that I hacked my linux heavily (kernel 2.2.17, helix-gnome 1.2, webdb for a HTTP server, GCC 2.95.2 compiler instead of EGCS 1.1.2, GDB 5.0 to name a few changes I've made)
