Report Server working on the web?

Hello everyone,

I have installed Reports Server 6i on a Sun box. My objective is to be able to execute .rdf report files from any web browser. I am able to successfully execute an .rdf report file when I am X windows interfaced into Reports Server. And while I have that X session connected, then I am able to execute reports from the web test screen via a browser.

But as soon as I end the X session and cycle the Reports Server process then I am not able to execute any .rdf reports from the web browser.

I have been going back and forth with Oracle support about this problem. One of the Oracle Notes they sent me stated "HTML requires an x session to 'draw' the report output to create the file before sending it back to the browser", which doesnt sounds right to me. Why would a net user need an X session??

At any rate, I am forced to ask the basic/dumb question...Is anyone successfully using Reports Server 6i to execute .rdf report files via a web browser over the net without an X session???

TIA!!! Chris Grabowy
