Hi Volker...
You can refer to

  1. Optimising SQL by Peter Gulutzan and Trudy Pelzer.... It talks about optimising Rules of Thumb...some 17 rules....
  2. Advanced Oracle tuning and administration By Eyal Aronoff et.al. by Oracle press...Explain plan and Hints....
  3. Oracle SQL High- Performance Tuning, Guy Harrison
    (Prentice-Hall,1997)(best of all)

Hope it helps.

Thanks
Vidya

Hi all,

I have the wonderful task to write down the guidelines for optimal use of SQL from point of performance criterea. I think this is written down sometimes before, so I don't want to invent the wheel new.

My question:
Is there a internet-link or some kind of documentation (Oracle documentation I have browsed) how to use SQL from the point of performance, something like "never use..., better use...".

Any information is appreciated.

TIA Volker Schön
