Env: VMS 6.1, Oracle7.0.16, DECNet TCP/IP Adapter 2.1.

Hi all,

I'm trying to get my listener to accept both DECNet and TCP/IP connections. So far it has rejected all TCP/IP connections. DECNet connections are ok.

ORA-12500: TNS: listener failed to start a dedicated server process

SQLNET.ORA has USE_DEDICATED_SERVER=OFF so I don't understand why it should even attempt to start a dedicated server!

I've done a lot of checks, bounced the listeners many times, and talked to Oracle for days on end. Still can't get it to work. So question is: have you got TCP/IP Adapter 2.1 to talk to Oracle 7.0.16?

TIA,
Leng.
