We are having an odd issue with our production Database.

We have recently exported that database to our development and can't
duplicate the issue.

Deal is:
We are running oracle 8i on an IBM AIX box and in our production instance
when we log in as anyone with access to any tables and execute an
insert, update or delete for the 1st time it takes too much time.
For updates of one field in one table with only 5 records it takes 10-15
seconds
Our deletes of one record from bigger tables takes up to 1 minute.

But, the 2nd time we run the same or similiar thing on the same table with
the same user then it works right away. No slowness at all.
Same thing with the 3rd, 4th, etc. time.

Thanks for any help,
