We currently have Oracle 6.x and we're upgrading to
Oracle 7.x.

One of the new options with Oracle 7 is purchasing an
SQL*Plus runtime license and an SQL*Plus Development license.

What's the difference? We have several users that perform
SQL statements directly to the database. They do not write
programs they just perform SQL queries. Do they need the runtime
or the development?

We have other users that access the database via client
applications. I guess the need the runtime only.

Under 6.x we didn't have this. Can anyone explain the difference?
