ORACLE was one of the first to bring a relational database to the AIX platform.
Some years ago, when we get first in touch with the new AIX boxes (as an SSO for
IBM), our blue mother was not able to give us a database for the RS/6000.

Please, don't try to give ORACLE a bad reputation, when in fact IBM just have
begun to learn their lesson. Other big companys, which also are doing a lot of
business with IBM, go with ORACLE (take SAP with their R/3 product) - and I
bet they know why.
